Explore each thematic through the perspectives of scholars and artists who engage the topic of personhood within sociolegal systems through the exploration of three different, but resonating framing questions:

Is justice a process or an outcome?

What documents constrain, narrate, or liberate subjecthood?

What is the human, anyway?

The Bugs & Beasts Before the Law Colloquium is organized by Nina Bozicnik (Curator, Henry Art Gallery), Mita Mahato (Associate Curator of Public and Youth Programs, Henry Art Gallery), and Carolyn Pinedo-Turnovsky (Associate Professor of American Ethnic Studies, University of Washington).
